Elschnig pearl formation on implant (Photo)

This photograph of the eye shows the formation of Elschnig pearls on a cataract implant. These grape-like clusters are formed from residual lens epithelial cells that migrate along the remaining capsular bag. They are only seen under the microscope and are almost always visually insignificant.
