Ultrasound of the eye (Photo)

This photo shows what a normal ultrasound of the eye looks like. The probe is graphed such that the front of the eye is on the left, and the back of the eye is on the right. You can see the dark outline of the optic nerve coming off the back of the eyeball.

Ultrasound photos are always difficult to understand. Fortunately, at an ultrasound-level the eye is not terribly complicated (unlike the heart). You should watch the ultrasound eye video that we’ve posted to see how the eye looks as it looks up and down while being scanned.
