Staph marginal keratitis (Photo)

staphmarginalcornea.jpg

This photo shows a sterile infiltrate near the limbus in an eye with significant inflammation from staph aureous infection of the eyelids. A hypersensitivity reaction occurs at the edge of the limbal vessels in the cornea. This eye was successfully treated by treating the lid disease and a mild steroid.

To see this infiltrate even better, watch our marginal keratitis video from which this photograph was captured.

what causes this disease? Is it treatable? Is it catchy? Is it cronic?

Am I a victim for blindness? After, I come off the antibotic and steril drops will it continue to give me migrains and hypersenwsitivity to light? could surgery be a solution?
