Retinal Hole (Photo)

Last updated September 13, 2007

holeinretina.jpg

This photograph shows a retinal hole as viewed by a contact lens at the slit-lamp. This bullous detachment is large and involves over 70% of the retina.

Retinal detachments are very hard to photograph, so to get a better idea of this hole, you may want to watch the retinal detachment video from which this snapshot was taken.
