Puncta Anatomy (Photo)

lowerpuncta.jpg

This photograph shows a slit-lamp view of the puncta. This small hole sits in the lower eyelid and drains tears from the ocular surface into the nose.

To get a better idea what the puncta looks like (this photograph is highly magnified and difficult to put into context) you may want to watch our punctum anatomy video from which this photograph was captured.
