
This photograph of the eye shows a small phylectenular bump. The slit-beam light passes through it and illustrates the raised nature of this lesion.
Phylectenules are generally harmless, though irritating. They are though to be a hypersensitivity reaction to antigens such as those produced by Staph bacterial with bad blepharitis infection.
