Perfluron Eye Complication (Photo)
Last updated September 7, 2007
This photograph shows a perfluron “bubble” sitting in the bottom of the anterior chamber of the eye. This molecule is denser than water and thus sinks. This is in contrast to silicone bubbles which float.
Perfuron is a wonderful tool for retinal detachment surgery. In this case, some managed to come forward into the AC. Hopefully, this cornea will not decompensate from endothelial cell loss.
To get a better idea how this looks, watch our perfluron cornea video from which this photograph was taken.
