
This photograph shows a small metal piece that has adhered to the cornea the eye at the 4-oclock position near the limbus. Metal pieces stick to the cornea, and quickly rust, and cause pain and lead to infection.
These pieces can be removed with a q-tip. If highly adherant, you can also use a blunt 18-guage needle to scoop the piece out. To see how this is done, watch our corneal fb removal video (this snapshot was taken from that clip).
