Chemosis (Photo)

This photo shows an irritated, chemotic eye. Chemosis is simply when the conjuncital layer becomes swollen and bulges forward. Though it looks impressive, and potentially scary when it occurs to you, chemosis is generally harmless and usually caused by allergies.
